She is LGBTQ affirming and respects the right of individuals to live and express themselves authentically.
Sallie understands the importance of tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each individual. Her integrated approach draws from various therapeutic modalities, allowing her to customize techniques that work best for each client. Whether it's mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), cognitive-based self-compassion training, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sallie is dedicated to working with her clients and families finding the most effective strategies to facilitate growth and reduce suffering.
Sallie believes in the power of collaboration and recognizes the significance of involving parents in the therapeutic process. By working closely with both children and their families, Sallie ensures that she is addressing the needs of the whole child and providing comprehensive support.
Throughout her career, Sallie has gained invaluable experience working in diverse settings, including schools, outpatient mental health clinics, and crisis intervention. This breadth of experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges facing her clients today and has honed her ability to provide effective intervention and support. Sallie specializes in depression, including non-suicidal self-injury (self-harm) and/or suicidal ideation, anxiety, and trauma. Sallie also has experience working with teens and young adults with high functioning autism and anxiety.
Sallie sees clients both in-person and virtually at this time. She has an anxious rescue dog named George who does enjoy making occasional cameo appearances during virtual sessions.
